About The Modular Home Review

The Modular Home Review is an independent UK guide to modular, prefab and offsite-manufactured homes. We are not a builder, manufacturer or broker, and we are not affiliated with the McAvoy Group or any company that shares part of our domain name; we do not sell buildings or take a cut of any sale. The site is run by a small editorial team that researches each topic from primary UK sources: the Planning Portal and government building-regulations guidance, RICS and published build-cost data, lender criteria from named mortgage brokers, and manufacturers’ own technical specifications, with every cost figure dated and sourced. Our calculators are estimating tools built on those published 2026 rates, not quotes. Where a topic needs a professional decision (planning, lending, structural sign-off) we say so and point readers to the relevant authority. We do not invent named experts or credentials; articles are bylined to the editorial team, and we correct and date-stamp pages as rates and rules change. Some outbound links to brokers or suppliers may be affiliate links, which we disclose, and they never change our recommendations.

How we research

Every guide is built from primary and recognised sources, planning portals, regulations, manufacturer specs and official data, and we link out rather than hardcode figures that change. We do not invent statistics, named experts or credentials. Where we are unsure we say so, and where a reader points out a mistake we correct it.

Independence note

We buy or borrow access to the builds we cover and accept no payment from manufacturers for reviews. If that ever changes on a given piece, we tell you at the top.
